Former vice president and chief design officer for Philips lighting Rogier van der Heide is set to join the Zumtobel Group.
He will be known as the new chief design and marketing officer for Tridonic, Thorn and Zumbtobel come December. Van der Heide also previously worked as the global leader for the Arup Lighting brand.
CEO of Zumtobel Group Ulrich Schumacher has expressed his joy and contentment upon Rogier van der Heide’s decision to join to Zumtobel saying: “Design is vital to all brands of the Zumtobel Group and we have decided to embed design more than ever before in the Group’s product creation processes. Consequently, we focus on the solutions that take lighting very much beyond illumination in every market segment.”

Being in the lighting industry for 25 years and counting, Rogier van der Heide also works as a specialty designer of art, entertainment and architectural lighting.
