Philips has announced that it has signed a contract with Syfy to provide lighting for the highly anticipated epic series “The Expanse”.
Philips provided lighting for Syfy’s Sharknado 2 and 12 Monkeys and this contract is merely a continuation of a fruitful collaboration, the company said in a news release.
“Philips Hue will offer viewers the ability to enhance The Expanse experience with a unique “light track” that uses audio cues and translates them into ambient lighting effects. For each episode in the 10-episode series, the Philips Hue bulbs change colour and intensity to reflect scenes in the show, adding heightened engagement and a new dimension to immersive television,” reads the news release.
The series will premiere in the fourth quarter of 2015 and Philips Hue is en route to redefine the very way people will watch TV in the future.
