So far, all of the amazing lighting products in the Philips Hue line of LED smart bulbs and lamps have been dependent on a smartphone or tablet app, but that’s about to change.

Yesterday, the company revealed a great addition to the Hue line – the new Philips Hue wireless dimming kit.

The Philips Hue Dimming Kit does not require any installation and it integrates seamlessly with existing Hue products.

Customers can change the brightness of up to 10 Philips Hue white bulbs at the same time.

Each kit consists of a bulb and the remote, as well as the new Philips Hue white bulb.

“The Philips Hue wireless dimming kit is the lightbulb moment that will spark the natural progression into the modern, connected home,” said Leonardo Avezzano, Product Marketing Director of Philips Hue.

“Not only does the kit show how simple it is to have clever products in your home, but like all Philips Hue products it is entirely future-proof. With the kit, anyone is able to begin enjoying the simplicity of modern dimming.”

The company says that there is no flickering or buzzing with the dimmer kit that can connect to other Hue products via the Philips Hue Bridge.

“Traditional LED dimmers are often expensive to replace and can result in lights that flicker and buzz. The Philips Hue wireless dimming kit offers the flawless dimming expected from Philips LED bulbs. The remote control is guaranteed to change the brightness of the Philips Hue white bulb with absolutely no flicker and perfect dimming until it is off. It is also possible to control up to 10 Philips Hue white lights at the same time, so you can easily change and adjust the brightness of a whole room,” reads the news release.

Priced at $39.95, the new Philips dimming kit will be available in stores in North America and Europe at the beginning of September 2015.

The new Philips Hue white bulbs are priced at $19.95.
