LBL Lighting has announced that its Xterna linear suspension has won the top award in the Lighting for Tomorrow’s Decorative Category, while its ultra-modern Auri head was pronounced winner in the Directional Category at this year’s Lighting for Tomorrow.
The event is a competition which challenges manufacturers to develop residential lighting products that successfully incorporate advances in both design and energy efficiency.
The awards were announced during the American Lighting Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Huntington Beach, California on 3 October.
The Xterna linear suspension from LBL Lighting has upward and downward firing LEDs embedded within its unique structure which are gradually revealed as it extends, while the ultra-modern Auri head has a powerful proprietary oval-shaped LED light source optimised through use of an internal reflector.
According to LBL Lighting’s news release, Xterna was inspired by metal elevator gates of the early 20th century; Auri was inspired by consumer electronic ear buds.
Xterna is available in either a White or Satin Nickel finish, while Auri is available in a Satin Nickel finish with a Satin Nickel stem or in a Rubberized White finish with a Satin Nickel stem.
