Internet of Things pioneer Echelon Corporation has been named a 2017 Sapphire Awards winner in the “Smart and Connected SSL Technologies” category for its Lumewave by Echelon PL-RF Gateway.
Ron Sege, Chairman and CEO of Echelon, said receiving the Sapphire Award was a great honour and achievement for the company.
“Our technology enables cities to implement connected smart lighting across their entire city landscape under a common control platform, regardless of fixture type or location,” Mr Sege added.
“We are thrilled to be included in the group of innovators who are advancing the industry by helping smart cities and enterprises adopt IoT-enabled lighting.”
The Echelon gateway is the only commercially-available outdoor control solution that is able to seamlessly integrate two of the most widely used lighting control connectivity technologies—powerline and wireless—to provide flexibility, reduce deployment costs and ease maintenance.
The system has been deployed in Bellingham, WA, where it is used to control 500 decorative fixtures along with 3,100 cobra head fixtures, as well as in Cambridge, MA, where it is used to coordinate control of more than 7,000 fixtures.
