Orion’s APOLLO Class LED VaporTight product line achieves NSF/ANSI Certification

Orion Energy Systems has announced the expansion of its all-around best-in-class APOLLO® Class LED VaporTight product line with NSF/ANSI Standard 2 certification.

The company said it is taking its APOLLO LED VaporTight product family into new lighting application spaces where NSF/ANSI Standard 2 certification is required, opening new opportunities in what Orion estimates to be a $530 million food and beverage market.

CEO John Scribante said Orion is one of only a few lighting manufacturers that offer an entire fixture with NSF/ANSI certification and manufactures products in the US.

“US manufactured products are more important to our customers today,” Mr Scribante remarked.

“The fact that the new VaporTight product line is manufactured in the US and is NSF/ANSI certified is a significant benefit, proving once again that our US manufacturing strategy gives us a competitive advantage.”

Orion said the NSF/ANSI certification means that its APOLLO® LED VaporTight NSF fixtures are durable enough for the most demanding environments, including facilities with wash down requirements up to 1500 pounds per square inch (PSI).

“Businesses that are required to use NSF/ANSI certified products can now realise the energy saving benefits of the APOLLO® VaporTight series, including best-in-class performance at up to 155 lumens per watt (LPW),” the company said in a press release.

According to Orion, the durable APOLLO® VaporTight NSF series enjoys many advantages over legacy high intensity discharge and fluorescent lighting technologies, such as improved light output, wide-ranging dimming options, and instant-on performance, all of which lead to increased energy savings.

“More lumens per watt means the fixtures produce more light for less energy, and therefore save Orion customers more money on their electricity bill than they would save if they chose a competitive LED fixture,” reads the press release.
